On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, the Glastonbury Republican Town Committee will open its fall election headquarters at 160 New London Turnpike in Glastonbury Center. The event is open to the public and will include a cocktail party beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a general meeting of the Town Committee beginning at 7 o’clock p.m.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to meet and speak with Glastonbury Republican candidates for municipal office, and to volunteer to assist the Glastonbury Republicans or any of the campaigns this fall. This year’s Town Council slate includes each of the six Republican incumbents who were elected in 2013, including Chairman Chip Beckett, Vice Chairman Whit Osgood, as well as councilmembers Karen Boisvert, Larry Byar, Kurt Cavanaugh and Bill Finn. The Board of Education slate includes incumbents Jeremy Grieveson and Susan Karp, along with newcomer Lillian Tanski.

Tanski, from South Glastonbury, is a member of the Town’s Planning & Zoning Commission and the President of the Glastonbury Newcomers and Neighbors Club. Tanski is a graduate of Princeton University and a mother of four. Tanski replaces Jim Zeller, a longtime Board of Education member, who is now running for the Board of Finance seat vacated by the retirement of Diane Northrop.

Other candidates expected to attend include Chris Gallagher, Kim Perna and Forbes Warren, who are seeking seats on the Board of Assessment Appeals; James Sinclair, who is running for the Zoning Board of Appeals, along with Ed Andreozzi and Nick Korns, who are running for the Zoning Board as alternates; and Gil Spencer, who is running for the Fire Commission.
