Phil Markuszka

I am an attorney whose primary practice is workers’ compensation defense work, and reside in town with my wife, Jamie.  I have been named by Super Lawyers to their Rising Stars list for workers’ compensation from 2015 through 2020.  I am on the Board of Directors of the Hartford County Bar Association and the Board of Directors for Kids’ Chance of Connecticut, an organization providing scholarships to children of Connecticut workers who were seriously or fatally injured in work-related accidents.  Additionally, I am the Town’s representative on the Cox Cable TV Advisory Council and a member of the Statewide Video Advisory Council.  I also serve on the Glastonbury Commission on Aging, the Insurance Advisory Committee, and participate in the Glastonbury RTC as Treasurer.

I was appointed to fill a vacancy as Alternate on the Glastonbury Zoning Board of Appeals and am running in this upcoming November election to continue serving on the Board as a Member. In my view, the Town needs to make sure properties fit within the character of their neighborhoods. There also needs to be communication/transparency between all Town departments/boards/commissions. It is imperative that the Town continues to listen to its citizens as the demographics of Glastonbury change. I promise to continue working tirelessly to keep Glastonbury the wonderful town it is today.
