Rachna Khanna
I immigrated to the United States in 1988 and have lived in Glastonbury with my family for 14 years. We raised three strong daughters who have gone on to successfully pursue careers in medicine, love Glastonbury, and wish to settle here. I also pursued my own professional goals, completing an MBA and later, a law degree.
Why am I running for Town Council? It’s quite simple — I wish to represent the citizens of Glastonbury by offering a combination of legal expertise, compassion, and respect for fiscal responsibility which better reflects the Glastonbury I remember when we chose to move here. This includes prioritizing the town’s historic character, including its farmlands and historic buildings. We need to return to respectful discussion and debate of issues, operate with transparency in developing budgets, mindful of the resulting impact to taxes, and work aggressively with law enforcement to deter the rise in criminal activity.
My mission is to foster a more transparent and accountable town governance, ensure responsible spending, and promote a safe environment. If you share these goals, I ask for your support to allow me to work for all the residents of Glastonbury.
