John Tom Hill Cemetery Clean-up
May 13 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Calling all gardeners and gardeners’ helpers!
Among the GRTC events for 2023 proposed by the Executive Committee was a service project for the town. Recent discussion around the maintenance of The Green Cemetery raised awareness that there are several Colonial era cemeteries in town, without the benefit of a dedicated Association for maintenance. Those cemeteries receive minimal attention and could use a helping hand for Spring cleanup. We have selected John Tom Hill Cemetery as our project with opportunities to trim small branches, prune overgrown shrubs, and remove tree debris which litters the grounds. Handling the headstones is out-of-scope.
Saturday, May 13th is the day for this volunteer activity. Mostly we need you…. plus loppers, pruning shears, rakes, leaf blowers, and portable wagons for picking up debris. (Debris and trimmings will be piled on site and the town will collect that for disposal.)
We will start at 9a and go until 1++ with light refreshments available. Please use this link to sign up so we have an estimate for the refreshments and to receive any follow-up notices.
